Euphoria with a purpose.” For the tenth year, we were honored to provide the stage for what is undeniably the biggest, most dynamic, and most viewed show of the year. With Latin culture on full display.

Our biggest build yet

We’ve set a lot of personal records at the Super Bowl Halftime Shows. For Beyonce in 2013, we built the biggest Super Bowl Halftime stage ever with the most field carts. This year’s show, we matched this record and then some. For one, it was the biggest Super Bowl stage to date, with almost 40 carts and a 48’ diameter video floor center stage. Plus, it had the most staging effects of any Halftime Show. If that doesn’t make your eyes widen, imagine the 18 semi-trucks it took to bring all that equipment to the field in Miami.

Super Bowl build by numbers

The Super Bowl Halftime Show is a big event by every stretch of the imagination. From our perspective, the numbers give just a small glimpse into what it takes to pull it off. In total, the show required seven lifts, including customized quad ribbon lifts for J.Lo and Shakira. We had 12 actuators for two separate tilted stage effects, two standard star lifts to lift dancers above the stage, and one customized oversized star lift for revealing J.Lo’s daughter, Emme.

To create the Halftime Show’s biggest and most complex stage, we used 38 field carts (plus 10 carts for pre-game and 9 carts for post-game) built on the Versa Field Stage platform. To put it all together, we utilized the help of hundreds of field team members. Not to mention the hundreds of hours and thousands of pieces of customized fabrication it took to bring it all together.

10 years and counting

In 2011 we began our Super Bowl Halftime Show tradition with the Black Eyed Peas in Dallas, Texas. From that show on, we have pushed our team to build the most dynamic stage of the year, with custom fabrication lifting each show to new heights. We have loved every Halftime Show build we’ve been a part of but, we’ve got to say, this year was a special one. Not only is it our 10 year anniversary of being part of one of the most-watched events of the year, but our dynamic stage supported the diversity of each performance.

Viva la super bowl

We were honored to yet again be part of the most dynamic and truly iconic shows of the year. Creating a stage at this level requires a team with specialized knowledge and experience. The unique venue environment, size of the stage, amount of technology, and the seven-minute time frame for set up makes the Halftime Show––and those who create it––one of a kind. This year’s show was one for the books––personal records blown out of the water and the magic only a Halftime Show can bring. Now, on to the next.
